Claude Giroux

Claude Giroux is once again showing that he has big game ability; that is why I have held onto him in both of my keeper leagues. In his final year in the ‘Q’, he had 51 points in only 19 games for Gatineau. In last year’s round 1 battle with Pittsburgh, his first NHL post season experience, he had five points in the six game loss.

This year, he had three points in the first four games, but tonight he is taking clutch to a whole new level. It started quieting whatever energy there was in the building with a beauty spin pass for Briere just over three minutes into the game. With the Devils struggling to break through the Flyers defense, Giroux put two more daggers in the Devils’ hearts just two minutes apart midway through the second.

No matter how far the Flyers go this year, I expect him to take a big step in 2010-11.
